Hand Washing-oke Machine

In the Culinary and Medical fields it is common knowledge that to properly assure that one's hands are clean one should thoroughly and aggressively wash them under hot water for approximately 20 seconds. It is often suggested that one should sing 'Happy Birthday' while partaking in the hand washing ritual. This is to make sure one is using the allotted time correctly without getting bored by just counting to 20.

But Happy Birthday can be boring also.


I'm suggesting that some sort of Hand Washing Karaoke Machine and Timer is created.

On this machine there would be a greater variety of songs to choose from, even if only five to eight selections are included. It could be a push button device, one in which the hand washer presses a button right before starting to hand wash. Or, better yet, it could be somehow attached to the faucet, and start playing a random song as soon as the water flows. This would make for a little fun in the work environment. "Aww, I got New York, New York again...when are we getting that thing upgraded?"


There could even be a sensor so it doesn't start playing until the water is the right temperature. It could even be satellite enabled so the songs are updated automatically.

Wouldn't this be better than 'Happy Birthday':
